Location The property is located near the pacific ocean on a hillside with a height difference of 7 meters. The idea for the design is to use the natural slope of the site. Therefore a covered parking space is created in the lower part of the property.

The ceiling of this parking area serves as a terrace for the main level. This creates a direct view from the pool and interior areas towards the ocean without parking spaces blocking the view.

Design On the main level you can find common areas such as the kitchen and living room, which are arranged in the middle as central spaces. The master bedroom and its bathroom are located in the front, the south part of the terrain, and two guest rooms are arranged in the back, the north part. All rooms have been arranged with a view towards the ocean overlooking the terrace with the infinity pool. As family life mostly takes place outdoors in this warm region, the large terrace possesses a pergola for sun shade, fire pit seating area, and an infinity pool serving as a common space, making it easily accessible from the surrounding private rooms.

This concept of the central square with the placement of the rooms around it results in the overall architecture of the house and at the same time ideally takes into account the topography of the property.

Materials The house is designed to blend into the environment and is therefore made of natural materials. Walls and roofs have a dark tone and are plastered or cast from concrete framework. The material concrete is ideal to help minimize outside's heat from entering.

The interiors appear rustic and cool. The roof extends, with the purpose of reducing direct sunlight hitting the windows and doors during midday. Interior design and furniture objects are made out of wood and result in a harmonious neutral color concept with the cold gray tone of the building and the green tones of the surrounding vegetation on the terrace and property.

One of the special aspects of the design was the embedding of the house in the sloping property. Elements that may appear heavy, such as the parking space at the lower part of the terrain, becomes a functional part of the terrace with its roof planting. Making it unnoticeable as a building component from the main level’s point of view.
