The nursing home and hospice located in Uckermark near Berlin provides people from the entire region and surrounding states a sustainable place to stay for the last phase of their lives. It was designed to be a comfortable, caring, and dignified home for the frail elderly and youth.

The architectural principle of the hospice is to open up certain rooms to the landscape. Larger bars are partly integrated into the hill. Various meeting points create public spaces throughout the whole building while station rooms and a room of silence offer the patients their privacy.

Patients and visitors enter the hospice through the community hall. Two bars extend in front of the barn towards the slope. Together they form an outlook on nature. On the lower level, both bars are connected by cross bars. This development of both buildings leads to a courtyard in the basement of the hospice. This creates a platform on the ground floor, which offers seating and a view of nature.

The building is designed in Uckermark to appreciate nature and the landscape available there.

Nature offers people the peace and majesty they deserve on their last journey.
